welcome to our website

Our mission is to provide sanctuary and shelter for unwanted, lost and neglected animals; to promote the humane care and treatment of all animals through education and to actively advocate pet population control.

We recently received a grant from Paws on Your Heart Pet Rescue Support, an area fund that supports deserving, small pet rescues in Iowa. The directors selected our rescue because of our ability to adopt a large number of cats/year, commitment to and success in fundraising to purchase our own building, and microchipping of all adopted cats. In addition to the fund’s support of area rescues like ours, it is also a great place to pay tribute ("in memory of" or "honor of") to beloved 4-legged and 2-legged family members. To learn more, go to

letter C for choosing a cat section

Choosing between a male and a female is not an easy task, as both make wonderful companions. Differences in personality are mostly attributable to the fact that everyone has something unique about them, rather than to male vs. female differences.
